After 4 epic days of The 10th Annual Bushwick Film Festival all good things must come to an end. @ Syndicated, a local indie theater in Bushwick, an award ceremony was held for best short films, documentaries, and features. The awards were presented by Founder and CEO of the Bushwick Film Festival, Kweighbaye Kotee, and among that list Black People Are Dangerous received the Honorable Mention Award. This marks the first award for the film but hopefully not the last.
Now a decade deep, the 10th Annual Bushwick Film Festival is spending the 3rd day of the fest premiering tons of short films, panels, and industry mixers. @ 4:45pm catch Black People Are Dangerous at LightSpace Studio in the Westerns, Space Odysseys, Social Thriller, etc series. It is an honor for Black People Are Dangerous to be among this line up of films, you can even catch Jamie Neumann of HBO’s The Duece in a film she wrote and stars in called These Wild Things.
With October being Halloween month, the 10th Annual Bushwick Film Festival is giving Black People Are Dangerous an additional screening in the Midnight Alternative Horror series at Syndicated movie theater. The festivities will commence @ midnight on Friday the 13th and among the great line up of short films are Hollywood players. Carrie Coon from HBO’s The Leftovers is featured in Great Choice by Robin Comisar. So be a night owl and catch the midnight screenings at Bushwick’s indie movie theater!
With Kweighbaye Kotee, Founder & CEO at the helm, the 10th Annual Bushwick Film Festival kicked off @ the legendary House of Yes. The festivities started with a pre-show party followed by a screening of Stefanie Sparks’ In Case of Emergency. Plenty of merriment throughout the night and it was also noted that Black People Are Dangerous would receive an additional screening amid the four day fest!!
The Bushwick Film Festival has announced their full program line up of screenings, panels, workshops, parties, and networking opportunities. This also marks the 10th Anniversary for the festival! With prominent Academy Award winners and nominees such as Caroline Waterlow (O.J.: Made in America), Heidi Ewing (Jesus Camp), Sam Pollard (4 Little Girls) and Spike Lee (Do The Right Thing, Malcolm X, When the Levees Broke) featuring and producing films in the festival, Black People Are Dangerous written and directed by Donaldo Prescod will screen Saturday October 14th in the short film series: Westerns, Space Odysseys, Social Thrillers, etc.
