Frank HartsLio Mehiel, and I will be live on Radio Free Brooklyn!! Objection to the Rule is a weekly show hosted by Orie Givens and it tackles big news items of the week along with giving a voice to the diverse issues of the neighborhood.

Orie reports at the intersection of social justice, race and ethnicity, politics and public affairs, with published work most recently for the LGBT publication The Advocate. He is also the host of RFB talk show Queer State of Mind.

With Orie, the cast and I will have an in depth conversation about the social aspects in Black People Are Dangerous.

Black People Are Dangerous wins the Honorable Mention Award

After 4 epic days of The 10th Annual Bushwick Film Festival all good things must come to an end. @ Syndicated, a local indie theater in Bushwick, an award ceremony was held for best short films, documentaries, and features. The awards were presented by Founder and CEO of the Bushwick Film Festival, Kweighbaye Kotee, and among that list Black People Are Dangerous received the Honorable Mention Award. This marks the first award for the film but hopefully not the last.

Now a decade deep, the 10th Annual Bushwick Film Festival is spending the 3rd day of the fest premiering tons of short films, panels, and industry mixers. @ 4:45pm catch Black People Are Dangerous at LightSpace Studio in the Westerns, Space Odysseys, Social Thriller, etc series. It is an honor for Black People Are Dangerous to be among this line up of films, you can even catch Jamie Neumann of HBO’s The Duece in a film she wrote and stars in called These Wild Things.

With October being Halloween month, the 10th Annual Bushwick Film Festival is giving Black People Are Dangerous an additional screening in the Midnight Alternative Horror series at Syndicated movie theater. The festivities will commence @ midnight on Friday the 13th and among the great line up of short films are Hollywood players. Carrie Coon from HBO’s The Leftovers is featured in Great Choice by Robin Comisar. So be a night owl and catch the midnight screenings at Bushwick’s indie movie theater!

The 10th Annual Bushwick Film Festival Opening Night Party

With Kweighbaye Kotee, Founder & CEO at the helm, the 10th Annual Bushwick Film Festival kicked off @ the legendary House of Yes. The festivities started with a pre-show party followed by a screening of Stefanie Sparks’ In Case of Emergency. Plenty of merriment throughout the night and it was also noted that Black People Are Dangerous would receive an additional screening amid the four day fest!!

The Bushwick Film Festival has announced their full program line up of screenings, panels, workshops, parties, and networking opportunities. This also marks the 10th Anniversary for the festival! With prominent Academy Award winners and nominees such as Caroline Waterlow (O.J.: Made in America), Heidi Ewing (Jesus Camp), Sam Pollard (4 Little Girls) and Spike Lee (Do The Right Thing, Malcolm X, When the Levees Broke) featuring and producing films in the festival, Black People Are Dangerous written and directed by Donaldo Prescod will screen Saturday October 14th in the short film series: Westerns, Space Odysseys, Social Thrillers, etc.

If Alfred Hitchcock had to release a movie trailer he never liked giving too much away. Sometimes he wouldn’t show a single frame of the film, it would just be him talking to the camera. So in the spirit of Hitchcock, there’s now have a nice little teaser trailer for Black People Are Dangerous. Thanks to Daniela Hart and the folks at Uptown Works for sound designing and editing!

Mike Pence – Trapped in the Closet Chapter 2 is now available for viewing on Donaldo Prescod’s YouTube channel. This musical masterpiece inspired by R. Kelly’s classic continues with its own epic saga.

The cast features Alex Herrald as Mike Pence, Ugo Chukwu, Danny Rivera, and Sean McIntyre. Matt Bovee on vocals. Donaldo Prescod adapted this for the screen. Briana Pozner and he directed.

The long awaited musical masterpiece inspired by R. Kelly is currently on Donaldo Prescod’s YouTube channel. Bare witness to the epic sage: Mike Pence – Trapped in the Closet Chapter 1.

This beautiful gem features the talents of Alex Herrald as Mike Pence, Ugo Chukwu, Danny Rivera, and Sean McIntyre. Matt Bovee on vocals. This started as a Rule of 7×7, a bi-monthly play festival produced by Brett Epstein located at The Tank. Donaldo adapted this for the screen. Briana Pozner and he directed, she also did the choreography.

Black People Are Dangerous is live!

Let the crowdfunding begin! Today Donaldo Prescod and the Seed&Spark Team have launched a 30 day campaign to raise $5,000 for Black People Are Dangerous. Joanna Bowzer will produce, and the film features Frank Harts of HBO’s The Leftovers, Showtime’s Billions, and Isabella Mehiel. The campaign is being supported through Seed&Spark, a film-centric crowdfunding and Video on demand platform launched in 2012. Seed&Spark has the highest success rate in the world for crowdfunding, and if Black People Are Dangerous gets at least 80% of their goal they get to keep the funds. Projects like this are only achieved from the support of family and friends so if you wish to contribute click HERE!
